You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown! features some of the best known and most beloved comic strip characters of all time: Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Sally, Peppermint Patty and, of course, Charlie Brown. This musical comedy is comprised of snippets right from the comic strip. The on-stage vignettes people see are the same standards people have been reading in the newspaper for years.

From the Director
Eric Van Druff

Welcome to our 6th season of Bradford Little Theatre! On behalf of BLT, I would like to thank you for attending the opening show of our new season. We realize we would not be here without the support of people like you, and we appreciate your patronage.
What defines "happiness" for you? For me, I have always taken joy in two things: being involved in the arts and entertaining people, and spending time with friends and family. I have been very fortunate in that I have gotten to combine both of my loves in the same endeavor.
As I recall, we were in the midst of rehearsals for last year’s musical, Little Shop of Horrors, when the horrific events of September 11, 2001, occurred. As shocked and devastated as we all were by what had happened, we, and the country, recovered. But, I know for me, I gained a new perspective on what things in life were truly important to me.
So, when I was asked to direct a show for this season, I felt You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown! was an appropriate choice. Charlie Brown is a show with comfortable, familiar characters that everyone knows and loves, but, more importantly, the characters embody the feelings we all face in life. Aren’t we all looking to "get that kite to fly," to find security in something as simple as a blanket, to play like young children, or just to be loved?
I know my cast and I have "rediscovered" a little of our childhood doing this show, and I hope it shows on the stage. Our sets and costumes were designed to remain true to Charles Schulz’s vision, from the bright colors to the oversized doghouse, all to give the actors (and the audience) the perspective of a seven-year old. The dances and music are an attempt to bring back the spirit and joy of youth. We hope some of the youthful enthusiasm rubs off on you!
Being a first-time director, I have had the distinct joy of not only bringing some very talented and established people into my production team but also some additional "first-timers." I want to thank them for helping me through and making my "vision," and dream, come true. I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of them!
So, please sit back, relax, and allow yourself to be transported to the world of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and all their friends—and, maybe, you’ll find your own definition of "happiness" watching our show. Thank you again for your outstanding support of BLT, and we hope to see you watching (or participating) soon!
     Enjoy the show!
