From The Director

Welcome to the closing show for our seventh season, and thank you so much for continuing to support Bradford Little Theatre. It is because of people like you that we have been able to share our love of the theatre with you for these past seven years!!

In early 1971, when John-Michael Tebelak first conceived the idea for the musical "Godspell", the world was in a very chaotic state – young people were off fighting (and dying) for their country, families were divided, and there was a sense of mistrust and uncertainty in our society. His "little show" (based on, of all things, the BIBLE?) was his attempt at bringing a glimmer of hope to the country in that time of crisis.

We are now faced with a similar situation in the world – young people are once again off at war, and America is again gripped in a sense of fear and uncertainty. It is my hope that now, like then, this show will provide you with that same hope in the sense of faith, family, community, and joy that exists in all of us!

For my "sophomore" directing effort with BLT, this has been another wonderful experience – I would like to personally thank the supremely talented group of actors, musicians, technicians, and production staff supporting my efforts – I am only the catalyst that puts these people in the right places, but it’s their talents that ultimately shine through!!

Thank you again for supporting us, and we hope you will enjoy our production of "Godspell"!

Eric L. Van Druff
