The rightful Duke of Milan, Prospero, has been exiled for twelve years on a deserted isle with his young daughter, Miranda. Their only companions: a deformed slave, Caliban, and a host of faeries and sprites led by Ariel.
During his exile, Prospero has grown wise in the ways of wizardry.
The opportunity arises for Prospero to use his magic arts to revenge himself upon those usurpers who marooned him, including his own brother and the King of Naples. Prospero conjures a storm, which causes the king’s ship to wreck on the island.
During the ensuing hijinx, Ariel leads the King’s men on a merry chase, Caliban discovers a cask of the king’s wine, and the king’s son, Ferdinand, falls head over heels for Miranda. But most of all, Prospero and the king take their separate roads to find redemption.
