Shrek The Musical Auditions

Mar 29, 2015

Calling all actors, singers, dancers, and stage crew! Bradford Little Theatre (BLT) has announced auditions for their upcoming production of “Shrek The Musical”.

Auditions will be held at the BLT offices (79 Main St [next to PNC Bank], Bradford) from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, March 29th and 6-9 p.m. Monday, March 30th. Callbacks, if needed, will be held Wednesday starting at 6 p.m.

Rehearsals begin in the middle of April. The show will be presented June 19-21 at the Bradford Area High School auditorium.

If you would like to audition, please bring your schedule and prepare a song (of your choice) to be sung with the available piano accompanist or a"capella. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, and please be prepared for movement and reading lines.

Those auditioning for a role requiring a specific character voice style are asked to prepare to audition using that character voice.

“This show is going to be a lot of fun to put on and there are many parts available for people of all abilities and time commitments,” said show director Chelsea Place. “I am looking for a cast of between 30 and 40 people, so there really is something for everyone.”

“BLT is thrilled to present ‘Shrek’ as the final production of the season,” added Nanci K. Garris, show producer and current BLT president. “We are excited for the upcoming auditions because this show offers roles for a wide variety of ages and talents. Audiences will not want to miss this one! Shrek offers a fun story line, memorable music and great entertainment for all ages.”

“Shrek The Musical” brings all the beloved characters known from the film to life on stage, and proves there"s more to the story than meets the ears.

“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek,” and thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude, and more than a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you"ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there"s one on hand … and his name is Shrek.
