Come fool around at Togi’s Playhouse!
Mar 25, 2016
Bradford Little Theatre is combining efforts with The Pitt Improvers, a student improv team from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford to offer the public two comedy improv shows. And what better day to hold two improv shows than the classic joking around holiday, April Fool’s Day!
“Improv is a form of theatre where the players make up scenes on the spot, based on suggestions from the audience,” BLT president Kristin Asinger explained. “The only thing rehearsed before are the games played, not specific scenarios.”
The night of comedy begins at 7pm on April 1st at Togi’s Playhouse, 18 Welch Ave, with a family friendly show, appropriate for audience members of any age. A second show will begin at 9pm and will allow for suggestions containing more adult topics. The 9pm show is recommended for mature audiences only.
“I am so excited to show our team to our surrounding community,” said Pitt Improver, and cast member of BLT’s upcoming “Death and Taxes,” Alexandra Fleming. She continued, “I think that this is a great opportunity for us and hope that everyone enjoys the show.”
This isn’t the first time that the Pitt Improvers have worked with the community, having performed in Kiwanis Kapers and helping to fundraise for organizations through improv shows. The team is made up of students who audition each year for a spot with the popular campus club.
Cost per show is $7 per person for adults and $5 for students and children. Save $2 per person by eating at Togi’s, one discount ticket per meal purchased, on April Fool’s Day. You must bring your receipt with you to the door and purchase your tickets at the door. Presale tickets are available at Togi’s Playhouse.
In improv no two shows are ever the same, so a special discount is available for those who wish to attend both shows - $8 for the entire night!
Discounted tickets can only be purchased by calling JessAnn at 716-790-0039 or at the door, if available.
